Cornerstones: Updates for the Bank Holiday weekend🌷
Bournemouth Writing Festival and more Cornerstones alumni success!
Dear authors,
We hope you’re looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend and enjoying a great start to the month! Here at Cornerstones we’ve had a lot of exciting events and news we wanted to share with you, read on to find out more.
Helen Corner-Bryant was joined by bestselling Cornerstones author, Alex Stone, at the 2024 Bournemouth Writing Festival, for their panel a bestselling author’s journey from novel to publication. Alex is unagented and is published by Boldwood Books. She started with a four book contract and has just signed for another four books. Alex is an accountant from the West Midlands, who uprooted her life to pursue her dream of living by the sea in Dorset and becoming a writer. She is now a bestselling psychological thriller author and has sold thus far 225,000 copies.
Looking for something to read over the weekend? In more exciting news, three of our Cornerstones almuni have published new books. From the fifth book in their series to an author’s debut title, we always love to celebrate our authors and their successes!
If you’re close to Norwich and interested in a signed copy of Amanda Addison’s latest book, do pop in to their Waterstones or try online! Norwich Waterstones enjoyed a full house for her launch, and the book is now being featured on The School Reading List top picks for summer 2024.
Congratulations to these authors, keep up the good work!
“It took me a while to realise there was no shame in asking for professional advice, although in reality plenty of successful authors have sought a helping hand either through formal writing courses or other forms of feedback. My Cornerstones editor provided me with the perfect blend of enthusiasm and constructive criticism. A Quiet Death In Italy went on to win a three-book deal with Constable, an imprint of Little, Brown. No literary consultancy can guarantee you will get published, but Cornerstones clearly have the calibre to help you get there.” - Tom Benjamin.
That’s all from us for now. Do get in touch to let us know how your writing is going, and if you ever need a second pair of eyes you know where to find us! We always offer free initial feedback on your first ten pages and synopsis and love reading any new material or hearing from our authors about how their manuscript is going.
Very best,
The Cornerstones Team
