Cornerstones: How to catch an agent's eye
With the arrival of our new Editorial Director, we're looking forward to seeing your submission-ready package!
Dear authors,
As spring is in full flow and new beginnings are afoot, we're delighted to share some exciting news. Monica Chakraverty, a long-standing industry editor for Cornerstones who spent many years as Publishing Director of HarperCollins, will be joining the core Cornerstones team as Editorial Director. Monica is spearheading our scouting programme and is in charge, along with our Director, Helen, of launching debut writers to agents. We like nothing more than seeing our authors progress from pitch to publication!
If you think your manuscript is at submission level, why not sign up for a Submission Package Review?
Your package should include:
Your cover letter
A one-page synopsis (or thereabouts)
Up to 10,000 words (double-spaced) of your MS
Monica will assess adult submissions and our submissions editor, Antonia P, will review children's. Unfortunately, we don't include picture books for this service. If we feel your manuscript is better placed with one of our other industry specialist editors, we will pass it on to them.
All our editors know how to get a manuscript up to publication level, so you’re in good hands with us. We look forward to seeing your manuscript fly and land on the bookshelves!
Very best,
The Cornerstones Team
